साहित्यकृतींवर आधारित चित्रपट निर्मिती संस्था “पर्व क्रिएशन्स”चा शुभारंभ

अभिजात मराठी  साहित्यकृतींवर आधारित चित्रपटांची निर्मिती हे उद्दिष्ट ठेवून स्थापन करण्यात आलेल्या “पर्व क्रिएशन्स” या निर्मितीसंस्थेचा औपचारिक शुभारंभ आणि “श्री पार्टनर” या चित्रपटाचा मुहूर्त ज्येष्ठ दिग्दर्शक श्री. राजदत्त यांच्या हस्ते  नुकताच मुंबईत एका शानदार  समारंभात  पार पडला.

यावेळी या चित्रपटातले प्रमुख कलावंत ज्येष्ठ अभिनेते सतीश पुळेकर, लालन सारंग आणि ज्येष्ठ नृत्य दिग्दर्शक सुबल सरकार, व.पु.काळे यांच्या कन्या आणि ज्येष्ठ साहित्यिका स्वाती चांदोरकर,व.पुं.चे सुपुत्र सुहास काळे तसेच मराठी चित्रपट तसेच उद्योग क्षेत्रातील मान्यवर उपस्थित होते.

मराठीतले जवळपास सर्वच यशस्वी चित्रपट साहित्यकृतींवर आधारित आहेत आणि ह्याच गोष्टीचे  विस्मरण अलीकडच्या काळात होत होते ,म्हणून पुन्हा एकदा साहित्याकडे वळण्याचा ठोस प्रयत्न या दृष्टीकोनातून “पर्व क्रिएशन्स” या निर्मितीसंस्थेची  स्थापन केल्याचे यावेळी संचालक समीर रमेश सुर्वे यांनी सांगितले. याच समारंभात पर्व क्रिएशन्सची प्रथम निर्मिती असलेल्या समीर रमेश सुर्वे दिग्दर्शित “श्री पार्टनर” या चित्रपटाचा मुहूर्त कलावंत आणि तंत्रज्ञांच्या उपस्थितीत संपन्न झाला.

व.पु.काळे यांच्या सुप्रसिद्ध पार्टनर कादंबरीवर हा चित्रपट आधारित असून “पार्टनर” च्या मुख्य भूमिकेत  सतीश पुळेकर तर मध्यवर्ती भूमिकेत लालन सारंग असून प्रायोगिक रंगभूमीवरचा चतुरस्त्र अभिनेता पद्मनाभ बिंड या चित्रपटात नायकाच्या भूमिकेत दिसेल.पुण्याची श्वेता पगार ही नवोदित अभिनेत्री या चित्रपटाद्वारे नायिका म्हणून सिनेसृष्टीत पदार्पण करत आहे. या चित्रपटातल्या सहकलावंतांची निवड मुंबई आणि पुण्यात निवड चाचणी घेऊन करण्यात आली आहे.या निवड चाचणीत  एकंदर  ७५० कलावंत सहभागी झाले त्यापैकी १६ जणांची निवड करण्यात आली. या चित्रपटात दिपक कदम, आकांक्षा मेहेंदळे, आनंद पानसे, दिनेश कानडे,  राहुल कुलकर्णी, सिद्धार्थ बेंद्रे, अंजली गोडबोले,आरती पाटील,राधिका  सुवर्णपत्की,मंदार  पाठक, आनंद बापट, कुशल कोळी, डॉ.संजीवकुमार पाटील, विद्याधर परांजपे, संजय देशपांडे  सह कलावंत आहेत.

या चित्रपटाचे छायाचित्रण  राजा फडतरे करणार असून कलादिग्दर्शन दत्ता लोंढे यांचे आहे.या चित्रपटाला सध्याचे आघाडीचे संगीतकार निलेश मोहरीर यांनी संगीत दिले असून  गीत अश्विनी शेंडे यांची आहेत. बेला शेंडे,मधुश्री आणि स्वप्नील बांदोडकर यांनी या गीतांना स्वर दिला असून पार्श्वसंगीताची  जबाबदारी निलेश डहाणूकर सांभाळणार  आहेत.नृत्य दिग्दर्शन दिपाली विचारे यांचे असून संकलक योगेश गोगटे आहेत. ध्वनी  – राशी बुट्टे ,वेशभूषा -बाळकृष्ण जावकर,रंगभूषा- दिनेश  नाईक सांभाळतील.जनसंपर्काची जबाबदारी  गणेश गारगोटे यांच्याकडे  असून कीर्तीकुमार नाईक आणि आशिष काळे कार्यकारी निर्माते आहेत. गंधर्व पेडणेकर,अजित म्हसकर, समीर रमेश सुर्वे या चित्रपटाचे  निर्माते आहेत.

‘श्री पार्टनर’च्या चित्रीकरणास लवकरच पुण्यामध्ये सुरवात होत असून हा चित्रपट येत्या सप्टेंबर महिन्यात प्रदर्शित करण्याचा चित्रपट निर्मात्यांचा मानस आहे.

“Make Theater Cool, the Younger Generation will get into it” Randeep Hooda

After the first successful stints in the city, the reenactment of Samuel Becket’s play ‘Waiting for Godot’, Naseerudin Shah, Benjamin Gilani, Akash Khurana and Randeep Hooda bring ‘Godot’ back to town.
 
Cast and crew of ‘Waiting for Godot‘, including Benjamin Gilani, Akash Khurana and Randeep Hooda caught up with members of the media saying that they all await a better future for theater in the country. Waiting for Godot” is Samuel Beckett’s masterpiece which is considered to be the most significant play written in the 20th century. “Nothing happens, twice” and time stands still in the act of waiting for someone who never appears. ‘Waiting for Godot’ will be enacted at Chowdiah Memorial Hall, on Saturday 20th February. 
Though Shah was missing on the panel due to a personal problems, Gilani said that, “Theater is one of the oldest forms of performing arts, and has managed to survive because people like us are hopeful that things will improve”. Gilani also added that the disparity between theater and commercial cinema has always existed, and there is plenty to be done in India in terms of theater. He said that there weren’t enough venues for theater as compared to the number of multiplexes. “You can’t run theater on love and fresh air. You get you’re results when you’re play opens to the public, and a lot of theaters close down because they are gasping for breath. Though I am not very sure of the situation in the South, it’s pretty prevalent up North” added Gilani.
What does Godot mean? “It’s being optimistic. We know that out Godot, by which we mean the audience, will come and make things better for everyone associated with this art” said Gilani.
The actors felt that the there is not enough money in theater, and that’s why it was in such a bad state. “And another problem with Indian theater is that it is not endemic. You have brilliant Gujarati, Marathi and plays of the vernacular language. How do you travel with one state to the other with that?” said Gilani. The actors said that encouraging the younger generation can be of great help to the development of theater. “Encouraging the younger generation by giving theater a cool edge can really encourage theater in the country. I do movies for money but if you ask me, I think theater satisfies me more as an actor” said Hooda.
One of the main subjects that the cast discussed about was the encouragement of drama in schools and universities. Khurana thinks that drama needs to be encouraged in grass root levels to change situations. “Let’s involve our kids here. I got pulled into drama when I was in school, and now my son is doing the same. People have to show some interest” added Khurana. “It’s not just the kids in schools and universities, even the government should step in” added Hooda.

“GARBO” A Play in Marathi

Garbo is about the class of ‘young people’ living aimlessly with frustration of shattered dreams, the diffusion of mediocrity, and the burden of inhibitions. A play about the generation which breaks out into defiance of living out their own lives with non-conformism for a credo; throwing up in the process a small minority culture, containing within itself its own seeds of destruction.
The drama in Garbo grows out of a claustrophobic real-life situation pushed to the limits of endurance, burgeoning into a surreal holy dream that is too unreal and brittle to stand the test.

“Tu” A Play in Marathi

This is a story of The Man, The Woman, The King, The Fakir and The Storyteller, which unfolds on stage through 52 poems
Being in love with the idea of loving, He has forgotten true love.
Being in love with her own self She has forgotten true love.
The King falls in love with The Woman.
The King has forgotten true love while getting her to love him.
But now, they have all realized that they are far away from true love. They are all seeking the true experience of love with their entire being.

Each one finds one’s true self by looking in The Fakir’s heart, which will liberate them. Telling his story will liberate the storyteller.

The stories of the characters are blended in each other’s stories, as are the past, present and the future in the story. There are no obvious boundaries to the time and space in the play. Memoirs and thoughts make us travel through the time zones in the story and … the virtual time and space unfolds before us.

“AANANDABHOG MALL” A Play in Marathi

The play is a story of a couple living in one of the small cities in India. The story creatively reflects on complex relationships of two characters in their early thirties. The personal memories of characters and histories of their local spaces, their bed time intimacies and foul languages are woven into power politics of caste and gender and fetish for ‘progress’ modeled on desirous market aspirations. This creates a magical interplay of disconcerted characters’ realities in this ‘golbal’ world.

Jaanta Raja to be staged in different Indian languages

VADODARA: Marathi play Jaanta Raja’ based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji will soon be staged in several Indian languages including Kannada and Malayalam. Babasaheb Purandare, writer and director of the play, said that he intends to reach the play to every part of the country by translating it into as many languages as possible. 

The 92-year-old nonagenarian has till date directed the play in Marathi, Hindi and English. “We are planning to visit Karnataka next year where the play will be shown in Kannada language. We want to reach out to as many people as possible in the country,” said Purandare who has done extensive research on Shivaji Maharaj. 

“We always need discipline and hard work to succeed and who better than Shivaji to inspire today’s generation. Shivaji was an efficient and secular administrator, who had soldiers from all the religions in his army. He believed in respecting all religions and equality,” Purandare added. 

The grand play wherein over 200 artistes play different roles along with elephants, horses and camels was staged at Navlakhi Ground on Tuesday and it will be shown till February 22. The historian was all praises for the city stating that Vadodara has still maintained its cultural ethos. “I love Vadodara even more than my hometown Pune. Pune has become more of a commercial centre now dotted only with factories and colleges. Vadodara, however, still is the cultural centre of Gujarat and I like to visit this place,” Purandare told TOI. 

When asked about the raging Marathi manoos’ issue raised by Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Purandare refused to comment and said that he prefers to be thousands of miles away from today’s politics. Purandare has written articles on the royal Gaekwad family who were erstwhile rulers of the Baroda state including those of Damajirao Gaekwad and Pilajirao Gaekwad. 

Ujwala Randive, who knows Purandare closely, said, “His house in Pune is similar to the forts built by Shivaji and his lifestyle too resembles to that of the Maratha ruler’s era. He is a very dedicated person.”

‘Vihir’ gets full house at Berlin film festival

Marathi film “Vihir”, produced by Amitabh Bachchan Corp Ltd (ABCL) and directed by Umesh Kulkarni, got a warm reception and ran to a full house at the Berlin International Film Festival.

“It is a great honour for me to be here in Berlin. The film is based on an autobiographical event, I lost my cousin in a well when I was 14, and I found the idea that somebody can be here one day, and be gone the next, very intriguing. It raised questions that I try to answer through the film, to search for him,” said Kulkarni, whose short film “Three of Us” was also at Berlin in 2008.

“Vihir”, meaning the well, ran at the prestigious festival Sunday. Kulkarni was there with his 10 member team, including actors Madan Deodhar, Alok Rajwade, actor-writer Girish Kulkarni and Mohan Agashe.

The film is about the friendship between two teenage boys Sameer and Nachiket and how they grapple with death and larger philosophical questions. “Vihir” played in the Generation 14 plus section of the festival for young adults.

“Vihir” has screenplay and dialogues by Girish Kulkarni and Sati Bhave, and cinematography by Sudhir Palsane. The film has warm portrayals by Madan Deodhar, who has a heartbreaking innocence, and Alok Rajwade, who has a maturity that belies his tender years.

ABCL’s CEO Wing Commander (retd) Ramesh Pulapaka was at the festival as well.

Explaining why ABCL backed a Marathi arthouse film, Pulapaka said: “ABCL wants to produce meaningful cinema with which it is proud to be associated. So we have produced Balki’s ‘Paa’, Rituparno Ghosh’s ‘Antarmahal’ in Bengali and now ‘Vihir’ in Marathi. Jaya Bachchan firmly believed in the script of ‘Vihir’. We are releasing the film on March 5 through PVR.”

Girish Kulkarni said: “In my adolescence, I experienced the death of someone close. I told my parents I wanted to die, not so much because I was fed up with life, but because I was intrigued by what happens after death. The challenge in writing the film was how to capture inner experiences to create meaning.”
